"Insects and Crustacea" and “Birds” were among the handful of classes students could take during Cornell’s first Summer Session in 1876.  Today, enrollment is open for hundreds of courses from every college offered in three-, six- and eight-week periods between June 3 and August 6.

Summer Session, part of Cornell’s School of Continuing Education, is open to Cornell students, students from other universities and adult learners who wish to earn up to 15 credits through courses taught by university faculty either on campus, online or off campus.

This year’s subjects include Africana studies, art, anthropology, astronomy, biology, business, chemistry, communication, computer science, design, economics, engineering, English, government, history, hotel administration, languages, law, mathematics, music, nutritional science, physical education, physics, psychology, statistics, technology, veterinary medicine and more.

HD 2170 Adolescence and Emerging Adulthood

NBA 2650 Strategic Management of Tech & Innovation

Other special offerings this year include the Cornell Prelaw Program and Internship in New York City, taught by  C. Evan Stewart ’74, JD ’77, and The Business World in New York City, taught by Erik Michielsen, managing director, Member Development, World 50, Inc. and a former regional director of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business.

Courses will be added throughout the spring, so students are encouraged to check the Summer Session course roster frequently. Deadlines vary, with the first being May 20.
