Collegetown, East Hill construction projects will affect traffic

TCAT Update:
Due to heavy equipment staging and subsequent traffic congestion, TCAT’s operations team put the Collegetown detour in effect immediately today, Friday, June 10, until further notice.

Due to construction, the intersection of College Avenue and Dryden Road will be closed to traffic starting Monday, June 13, until further notice. This closure will affect Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit (TCAT) buses traveling to or from Collegetown, as well as some of the Carpenter and Sage Hall stops.

TCAT Routes 10, 30, 32, 51, 70 and 72 serving College Avenue and Collegetown will be detoured for the duration of the project. Routes 41 and 92 will serve Collegetown with stops at the Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts.

A chilled water project will also create a lane closure on College Avenue from the Schwartz Center to Snee Hall, June 13-July 1, including the Stone Arch Bridge.

Signs are posted at stops throughout the detour area.

Routes 51 and 52 also will be detoured for construction on Pine Tree Road between Maple Avenue and N.Y. State Route 366/Dryden Road. This section of Pine Tree Road, including the pedestrian bridge and trail, will be closed to all traffic from June 13 through Aug. 18.

Complete route detour and stop location information for the College Avenue and Pine Tree Road closures can be found on the TCAT site and on a downloadable Transportation Services’ Summer Impacts pdf.
