Zalaznick awards support course expansion, TAs

Eight faculty members from four Cornell colleges were honored recently with awards from the Louis H. Zalaznick Teaching Assistantship program, allowing them to expand their courses or add teaching assistants.

The program, administered by Entrepreneurship at Cornell, was established in 1993 by Cornell trustee David W. Zalaznick ’76 and his wife, Barbara ’76, to honor David’s father, Louis. The awards allow faculty affiliated with Entrepreneurship at Cornell to extend their capacity to work with students by providing one or more assistants to help with their courses or course development.

Zalaznick award winners for 2015 and their projects:

  • David BenDaniel, the Don and Margi Berens Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, will hire assistants for his Private Equity Practicum.
  • Juan Hinestroza, associate professor of fiber science and apparel design in the College of Human Ecology, will hire assistants for his Textiles and Apparel Innovation class.
